Conscious Evolution Conference

A potentially useful addition to the data subset of intentional gatherings and meditations was a meeting in France that brought together people working for Conscious Evolution.

I received email from Eric Allodi proposing that the International Forum on the Evolution of Consciousness would be an event the GCP should consider. He indicated it would be on the 12th of October, and that "we’ll organize it at La Sorbonne with 6 evolutionary workshops (= world cafés) and talks (with Andrew Cohen, Barbara Marx Hubbard, …) in front and with 500 people." I agreed to set an event, with times based on the conference schedule.

The GCP event was set for 12 October, from 1100 to 1500 UTC. The result is Chisquare 14418.490 on 14400 df, for p = 0.455 and Z = 0.113.

It is important to keep in mind that we have only a tiny statistical effect, so that it is always hard to distinguish signal from noise. This means that every "success" might be largely driven by chance, and every "null" might include a real signal overwhelmed by noise. In the long run, a real effect can be identified only by patiently accumulating replications of similar analyses.
